CSI (is short for Communauté de Sécurité Informatique ) is a Tunisian Cyber Security Community. Based in the National School for Computer Science (ENSI, Ecole nationale des Sciences de l'Informatique). Founded in 2010, and has been working on raising awareness about the importance of cyber security and digital rights amongst engineering students. The idea to form a community in ENSI came after a group of sophomore students found themselves very interested in cyber security and aware of the importance of online security and privacy in a world where everything is either connected to the Internert or is about to be. These students were amazed by how huge this domain is and how much attention it was getting in the tech circles worldwide. They found in forming a community the perfect way to exchange knowledge, improve their skills and most importantly to keep their motivation to learn high. Very fast the community grew large and ENSI students were joining to learn about this exciting new topic: CyberSec. Nowadays, each year more than 50 freshmen join the community. CSI hosts two yearly events; HackZone and HackMeIfYouCan. The community leaders work hard to ensure new members get acquainted with cyber security, and together, they try to learn through the year: • Best practices in coding secure applications and programs. • Basic cyber security techniques and principales, e.g. cryptography, social engineering, injection attack, etc... • How to use Internet responsibly and avoid being a victim of milicious hackers. • How to contribute and give back to the community. • How to manage group work and work on projects.
