The USAID-funded Business Reform and Competitiveness Project (BRCP) is a three-year job creation program (2014-2017) implemented in Tunisia to identify and address key factors inhibiting the ability of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in high potential sectors to grow and create jobs. the project has three components: • improving small and medium enterprise competitiveness in key sectors; • enhancing employability, improving the market-relevance of training/education programs, and strengthening job-placement networks; • promoting an enabling environment by working with public sector stakeholders to improve the overall business environment for SMEs in Tunisia. BRCP’s overall objective is to increase employment in Tunisia. The program focuses on enterprise-level support through co-funded technical assistance to enterprises to create jobs, as well as working with investors and businesses to facilitate SME access to capital. BRCP also works with a broad network of employability stakeholders to match jobs and to create durable communication between the education system and the private sector. These include employment agencies and career development center networks (4C) in Tunisia. Finally, BRCP works with public sector institutions to promote regulatory reform benefiting SMEs in Tunisia.
